Just like the neighbouring communities of Beacon Hill and Waterways, a large percentage of the homes in Abasand were affected by the 2016 fire. Despite the dramatic events that unfolded on that fateful May day, the community has only grown stronger. Private developers and some adventurous home buyers are determined to help the area rebuild, purchasing one of the many vacant lots for sale in Abasand and choosing to build a custom home. The lower end of the Abasand real estate market is filled with many of these vacant lots.
